About Tom Senior
Tom Sr. is a career auto mechanic who taught his son everything there is to know about cars. Tom Sr. had a wrench in his hand before wrenches were even invented, probably in the Stone Age. So maybe he’s not that old, but he really has seen it all. Growing up in West Philadelphia (born and raised), Tom Sr. could be found working on cars with the neighborhood boys – ’55, ’56 Chevies, etc. Before joining Tommy’s as the resident expert in 2010, he worked at DiMascio’s Auto Repair, first in Philadelphia, then in Lansdowne. He also worked as a general contractor and carpenter for CherryOak Woodworking.
When he’s not busy storytelling about his glory days, Tom Sr. can be found lecturing his son on life, love, and of course, cars. As a father, he passed down his values of hard work and honesty to his son, and now they make a great team. But, since he used to change little Tommy Jr.’s diapers, what he says, goes. He loves when you ask him to pull out embarrassing baby photos of his son, which he has at the ready.
